Brenda Yanney- MA, RD, LDOwner and President Brenda Yanney has been with Show-Me Food & Nutrition Services since January 2004 as a long-term care consultant, providing services that include nutrition assessment, nutrition education, medical nutrition therapy, assisting with and monitoring for regulatory compliance, staff in-service training, food service management, and menu development. Brenda’s previous experience includes over 20 years in acute care, initially as a clinical dietitian in Nebraska, and later as Assistant Director and then Director of Food & Nutrition Services in hospitals in Independence and Lee’s Summit, MO. Brenda has a B.S. in Dietetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a M.A. in Business from Webster University, Kansas City. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Dietetics in Health Care Communities practice group, and the Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Brenda has ServSafe certification. Brenda purchased the company from Mary Anne Drake in May 2016.Stacey Sisemore- RD, LDStacey completed her BS Degree in Dietetics from the University of Central Missouri and completed her dietetic internship through the Kansas City ARAMARK Dietetic Internship. Stacey enjoys working with a wide variety of patients and clients but specifically with the aging population and those receiving dialysis treatment. She is also very experienced in working with clients requiring nutrition support. Stacey is originally from Smithton, Missouri but currently resides in Raymore with her son, Noah.Sydney S. Burch- RD, LDSydney is currently a Consultant Registered and Licensed Dietitian for Show-Me Food and Nutrition Services, and has been a Consultant Dietitian for over 15 years. She has experience in Geriatric Nutrition including nutrition assessment and care, Weight loss Clinical Trials Counseling and assessment, food service management, and menu/recipe development. Furthermore, she has experience as a Registered Dietitian in School Food Service, Community Nutrition, and Hospital Acute/Clinical Care. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Central Missouri and completed her Dietetic Internship at University of Kansas Medical Center. She is active in a number of civic and philanthropic organizations including Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, Lee's Summit High School, William Jewell College, and P.E.O. women's organization.Annie M. Nelson- MSA, RD, LDAnnie joined Show-Me Food & Nutrition Services, Inc. in April 2015. Prior to joining Show-Me Food & Nutrition Services, Inc., she retired from the Department of Health and Senior Services after 23 years of service as a Health Facilities Consultant. In that position, she surveyed hospitals for compliance of Federal (Medicare) and State Regulations. She also served 27 years in the military and retired as a Chief Nutrition Officer in the Army. She managed the overall operations of Food & Nutrition Departments to include all phases of nutrition education, administration and food production and services. Annie’s professional career in the field of dietetics and nutrition spans over 35 years as a Registered Dietitian at various hospitals in the Kansas City, MO area and at a mental health facility. Her experience focused in the areas of Food Service Management, Medical Nutrition Therapy and Geriatric Nutrition. Ms. Nelson obtained a Master of Science Administration (MSA) degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University in 1993 and a BS degree in Institutional Dietetics from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1973. While at the University, Annie was selected to be in Who’s Who among Colleges and Universities, a member of the National Honor Society and on the Dean’s List. Annie is a Licensed Registered Dietitian in the state of Missouri. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Military Reserves Officers Association Lifetime Membership.Kayla Kerr- RD, LDKayla was raised in Missouri and earned her bachelor's of science degree in dietetics at the University of Central Missouri. Shortly after completing her dietetic internship in Colorado Springs, CO she landed her first job as a patient services manager at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO. Later she transferred to the Kansas City area where she worked as a clinical and outpatient dietitian at several area hospitals for the same company over an eleven year period. During this time she participated in several performance improvement projects including a parenteral nutrition initiative which was chosen to be an example in 'Keeping up with the Quality Trends', a learning module from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Kayla joined Show-Me Foods and Nutrition in December 2015 and is proud to work with a locally owned dietetics/nutrition consulting company in Missouri and Kansas.Amber Janes- RD, LDAmber comes to Show Me after successfully transitioning to a new career in the health and nutrition field. Before recently earning the Registered Dietitian designation from the University of Central Missouri & Iowa State University, Amber was the co-founder and manager of a successful small business. She brings an added layer of experience to any team of dietary clinicians having also earned the CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) designation, and a BA in Marketing from Wichita State University. Throughout her academic and professional career Amber has been blessed with a number of opportunities to help others in the community with dietary needs and nutritional disparities. She has volunteered her time assisting with food preparations in the kitchens of the Overland Park Regional Medical Center and has also helped identify food preferences among patients in the acute-care setting using client satisfaction surveys. Amber is a trained Project Strength Leader through Harvesters of Kansas City and has taught free public nutrition courses through the Project Strength, 8-session nutrition education program on the campuses of Johnson County Community College. Amber was able to provide attendees with nutrition education, as well as the specific skill-set necessary for planning & executing healthy meals on a budget. During her pursuit of the RD designation, Amber conducted a unique internship which provided her the opportunity to work in various settings as a clinical dietitian throughout the community. It was through this program that initially brought her to Show Me. She truly enjoys educating her patients on their specific dietary needs, and she thrives on helping them live healthier lifestyles. Amber resides in Overland Park, KS with her husband and daughter, and loves to spend time with family and her dog Whistler. In her free time, you can find her playing with her daughter, exercising, cooking a warm meal, or watching a good movie.Samantha Colburn- MS, RD, LDSam completed her BS Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas, her BS Degree in Dietetics from the University of Central Missouri, and completed her dietetic internship and Master's Degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Sam has been with Show-Me since 2006 in various roles including full-time, part-time and prn. Sam enjoys working with a wide variety of patients and clients but specifically with the aging population and nutrition support. Sam is originally from Littleton, CO but currently resides in Overland Park with her husband Ryan and two children, Emily and Andrew.Mary Anne Drake- PhD, RD, LDMary Anne is the founder of Show-Me Food & Nutrition Services, Inc. She has had a professional career in the field of dietetics and nutrition since she became a Registered Dietitian nearly 40 years ago. Her experience has focused in the areas of Medical Nutrition Therapy, Dietetics Education, Food Service Management and Geriatric Nutrition( the field in which she has served as a Licensed Consultant Registered Dietitian). A graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics, she obtained her PhD from the University of Kansas in Nutrition Education. For 22 years she served as the Director of the Dietetics Program at the University of Central Missouri. More recently she developed and directed the previous Certified Dietary Manager’s course offered at the Herndon Career Center. In Raytown, Missouri. As a Registered Licensed Dietitian in both Missouri and Kansas, Mary Anne is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has been an active member on local, state and nation levels and is a proud recipient of the Kansas City Dietetic Association and Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Registered Dietitian of the year. Mary Anne sold the company to Brenda Yanney in May 2016.Kelsey Anderson- RD, LDKelsey received her Bachelor of Science in Coordinated Dietetics from Texas Christian University in 2006, and went on to obtain her Diploma of Culinary Arts from Arizona Culinary Institute in 2007. She has spent the last 15 years working across multiple disciplines – inpatient hospital as well as long-term care medical teams, private chef work, and school menu analysis. She loves to volunteer and has served as a nutrition educator for Cooking Matters/Share our Strength, a culinary nutrition instructor for women and mothers in shelters, and assisting with weekly meal prep for those with limited resources. Kelsey is passionate about exploring the outdoors, trying out new cuisines and types of foods, traveling, humanitarian and equality issues, and animals (especially dogs). She and her partner, Francis, live with their rescue Jack Russell/Dachshund mix, Chuey.
